A weekly private gulet charter means a crewed wooden yacht for your group of 4-16, embarking in Bodrum. The boat, crew and route are yours alone. High-season weeks on a 6-cabin gulet typically run £18,000-£23,000 per boat, around £1,500-£1,900 per person when full; low season £12,500-£15,500. The sailing season runs May to October.
What is a gulet? A gulet is a traditional wooden motorsailer, typically 15-40 metres, built for deck living: a wide aft deck, shaded dining, and 4-16 guests in cabin accommodation, sailing short hops between swim stops.

A sample week from Bodrum

Charter questions
How much is a weekly gulet charter in GBP?
A 6-cabin gulet typically ranges £12,500-£15,500 per week in low season and £18,000-£23,000 in high season, full boat. Per person when full: roughly £1,050-£1,300 in low season, £1,500-£1,900 in high season.
Gulet or motor yacht, which suits us?
Gulets are slower, roomier wooden yachts built for deck living and swim stops; motor yachts are faster and more modern but thirstier. For a classic Turkish week with children or grandparents, most UK families choose a gulet.
Can we add Greek islands to the route?
Often yes from Bodrum and Marmaris, Kos and Symi are close. It needs passports carried on board, harbour formalities and sometimes an itinerary fee, so tell us at enquiry stage and we will confirm what is possible that week.
Is a gulet charter suitable with children?
Yes, crews are used to families, rails and shaded aft decks help, and routes are flexible around nap and meal times. Tell us ages when you enquire so we match you with a suitable layout.
What happens if we must cancel?
Nothing is owed until you sign: we send two copies of the charter contract signed by us, you sign both and return one with the 50% deposit, and only then is the booking confirmed. Your offer and contract state the exact cancellation charges before you pay anything. Because the deposit takes the boat off the market, we strongly recommend travel insurance that explicitly covers charter cancellation. If we must cancel for safety or force majeure, our terms promise an alternative week or yacht, or a refund of sums paid to us.
Which UK airports fly to the departure ports?
In season, direct flights from Gatwick, Stansted and Manchester reach Bodrum (Milas) and Dalaman in about 4 hours; Heathrow has direct Bodrum flights with BA on selected days, otherwise connect via Istanbul. Bodrum marina is 30-45 minutes from Milas airport, and Fethiye, Göcek and Marmaris are reached from Dalaman.
Is a gulet charter ATOL protected?
No. A gulet charter is not a package flight holiday, so we hold no ATOL or ABTA bonding and claim none. De Yachting is a licensed Turkish travel agency (TÜRSAB No. 17781); your offer and contract state the payment and cancellation terms before you pay, and we recommend travel insurance that covers boat charters.

Amazing Time

An Unforgettable Family Journey with DE Yachting Aboard Baba Can

Our family just returned from the most incredible trip to Turkey, and it truly exceeded every expectation. The highlight of our vacation was our unforgettable week aboard Baba Can, which was simply perfect from beginning to end.
A huge thank you to Hülya and the entire team at DE Yachting for organizing such a seamless experience. Every detail was thoughtfully planned, communication was excellent, and we felt completely taken care of throughout the entire process.
Most importantly, our captain and crew aboard Baba Can were absolutely outstanding. They made us feel at home from the moment we stepped on board. Their kindness, professionalism, attention to detail, and genuine hospitality made the trip so special. They went above and beyond every day, whether it was finding beautiful secluded bays, preparing incredible meals, or making sure our family had everything we needed. By the end of the week, they felt like family.
Turkey itself is one of the most beautiful countries we have ever visited, with crystal-clear water, charming coastal towns, delicious food, and incredibly warm people. Thanks to DE Yachting and the amazing crew of Baba Can, this became one of the best vacations our family has ever taken.
